Overview
Sport Sambo is a 1-on-1 combat sport developed in Russia combining judo-style throws with groundwork and joint-locks. Competitors vie to win through throws and submissions, with no strikes permitted in this format. FIAS, the IOC-recognized governing body since 2021, oversees the sport internationally.
