1. Acceptance
By accessing or using OpenSourceSports (“the Platform”), operated by Digi Logic Labs, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. What We Provide
OpenSourceSports aggregates, standardizes, and presents the official rules of sports from their respective governing bodies. We also host community-created sports and rule proposals. All content is provided “as is” for informational purposes.
3. User Accounts
You may browse the Platform without an account. To submit sports, vote on proposals, save favorites, or participate in governance, you must sign in via our authentication provider (Keycloak). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
4. User Contributions
When you submit content to the Platform (custom sports, proposals, votes, or comments), you:
- Grant OpenSourceSports a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and modify the content as part of the Platform
- Confirm the content is your original work or you have the right to submit it
- Agree not to submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or infringes on others' rights
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines.
5. Official Rules Attribution
Official sport rules are sourced from and attributed to their respective governing bodies (e.g., NFL, FIFA, NBA, ITF). OpenSourceSports does not claim ownership of these rules. We present them in a standardized format for educational and reference purposes. Links to original sources are provided where available.
6. Donations & Payments
Donations are voluntary and processed by Stripe. Monthly donations can be cancelled at any time via the link in your Stripe receipt. Donations are non-refundable except at our discretion. Donations may unlock minor quality-of-life benefits (e.g. additional per-tool save slots) detailed on the support page, but do not grant an ownership stake in the Platform or access to content otherwise gated behind a paywall. All rulebook content, tools, and core features remain free to use without any donation.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Scrape or bulk-download content for commercial redistribution
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Use automated tools to create accounts, submit content, or cast votes
- Impersonate a governing body or claim false authority over a sport
- Submit intentionally false or misleading rule information
8. Limitation of Liability
OpenSourceSports is provided for informational purposes. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any rule content. For official rulings in competitive play, always consult the governing body's original documentation directly. Digi Logic Labs is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your submitted content may remain on the Platform (as it has been licensed under Section 4), but your personal data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via a banner on the site.
